In this clinical case, the patient presented with persistent aching pain in the area of tooth 2.7, which worsened when biting, a sensation of an “elongated tooth,” and discomfort while eating.
The examination revealed an exacerbation of chronic apical periodontitis of tooth 2.7.
For treatment planning, a CBCT scan and radiographic examination were performed. Treatment was carried out under STA computer-assisted anesthesia with rubber dam isolation and the use of a Seiler Evolution XR6 dental microscope.
After root canal inspection, mechanical and chemical canal preparation was performed with step-by-step antiseptic irrigation. Following canal preparation, the root canal system was hermetically sealed, restoring its three-dimensional structure.
After completing the endodontic stage, the coronal part of the tooth was restored with Estelite Asteria composite material, recreating its natural anatomy and function.
Result:
The inflammatory process has been eliminated, the tooth preserved, and chewing function restored.
