In this clinical case, the patient presented with pain when biting in the area of tooth 2.6.
During the examination and CBCT scan of the jaws, apical periodontitis of tooth 2.6 was diagnosed. The cause of the condition was a previously missed root canal.
For treatment planning, comprehensive diagnostics were performed, including a CBCT scan and periapical radiography. Treatment was carried out under STA computer-assisted anesthesia with rubber dam isolation.
After removing the old filling, residual filling material, and carious tissues, the root canals were retreated and a previously untreated canal was identified. Under the control of a Seiler Evolution XR6 operating microscope, mechanical and chemical preparation of the root canal system was performed using NiC and SOCO instruments, followed by ultrasonic-activated irrigation.
Following hermetic obturation of the canals using the warm gutta-percha 3D technique, the tooth was restored with Estelite Asteria composite material and prepared for the prosthetic stage of treatment.
The final stage included digital scanning, fabrication, and placement of a Multilayer Esthetics zirconia crown with individual staining, providing reliable functional and aesthetic restoration of the tooth.
Result:
The inflammatory process has been eliminated, the tooth preserved, and chewing function restored.
