In this clinical case, the patient presented with mobility of a previously placed crown and food impaction between the teeth.
The examination revealed chronic apical periodontitis of tooth 2.6.
For treatment planning, professional dental cleaning, a CBCT scan, and a periapical X-ray were performed.
Endodontic treatment was carried out under STA computer-assisted anesthesia with rubber dam isolation and microscope control using Seiler Evolution XR6. During treatment, the old crown, a post, and a fractured instrument fragment were removed, along with old restorations and residual filling material.
After root canal retreatment, mechanical and chemical preparation was performed using NiC and SOCO instruments, followed by ultrasonic-activated irrigation and hermetic obturation with warm gutta-percha.
Following a control radiographic examination, the tooth was restored with Estelite Asteria composite material and prepared for further prosthetic treatment.
Result:
The source of infection was eliminated, the root canal seal was restored, and conditions were created for reliable long-term tooth restoration.
